About Us
There Is Something For Everyone!
The Dakota Theatre is a performing arts center dedicated to providing entertainment and cultural opportunities for all citizens of the greater Yankton region. We believe the arts strengthen our community by inspiring, uniting, and educating children and adults of all backgrounds. We are located in an historic 1902 theater building that has hosted everything from operas to concerts, plays and even a few boxing matches over the past century. The Dakota Theatre is operated today by Onward Yankton, a non-profit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life for everyone.
